In the spring and summer of , Jill Curry and Brett Robinson, both civilian jail services technicians, repeatedly had "unconsented" and "coercive" sex with the inmate, according to the lawsuit filed last week in U. District Court in Portland. The March 3 complaint claims the jail workers abused their power, took advantage of the inmate and directed him to engage in the sexual activity. It was misconduct that the county failed to prevent through its hiring and training practices, the complaint alleges. The jail also lacked adequate video or audio surveillance systems to properly supervise the employees and prevent misconduct, the suit says. Both Curry, 39, and Robinson, 33, are now in state prison serving sentences for custodial sexual misconduct among other crimes.
